6TH MENANG POP BAND!!!!!!!!!


this year's pop band competition was damn satisfying. the songs chosen were great-- so7, oag, sweet charity and a few others. 16 bands battled to get the title 'Band Of The Year'. overall, it was enjoyable, unlike the previous years where the songs were lousy and the vox were the same ol' people. (3 dara pingitan? ergh! puhleeeze!). oh yeah, surprize surprize! AJ yg poyo tuh pon ade, representing 2nd. yuck! wow...he did have a makeover. not sure whether he's been like that since the semester started or it's just for that contest. seriously akuk mati mati ingat tu bukan dia...

herm, but the poyo is still there lar...so...could be him...

thank god i withdrew before any bet was made. otherwise, i'd lose my pinkie. (bet kerat jari daaa...)

everything went smoothly and of course there were flaws-- out-of-tune vox, uneven volume of the instruments, timing lari sket... and one thing that spolit the whole event was the mic. it really really ruined the mood. amongst the previous 2 battles, i give this one 2 thumbs up. worth my 2 bucks indeed.

i aint gonna spit my comments on every 16 bands performed. the one that i want to share is during the performance of 6th college. what's so special with this particular college? it is a college where all medic students are 'kept'. (yep! budak medic sume duduk situ.) they played Mentera Semerah Padi as the instrumental number and Sandarkan Pada Kenangan for the vocal. what do i like about this band? it included all races, unlike the others yang only ada malays or malay+chinese. the instrumental song they played was something that worth the praise. as a listener, i could hardly hear any imperfection and the others actually enjoyed it very much! oh yeah, not forgetting the tabla player that spiced up the tune as well. really cool.

now, it's time for the singing part. everybody was like mad when the mc announced the title of the song as for the fact that that song is kinda hot at the moment. (ok, kalau tak scalding hot pon...still suam suam panas). wheeeee!!!!! it's hargrid and hermoine on stage!! (erm, the size guys... i was mentioning about the size here...). the male vox was a big sized indian guy, who turned out to have a nice voice...(only that it's ruined by the stupid mic! bodosh!) and the female vox? a petite chinese gal who has a nice in-control voice as well. most of all, she can sing the suara-kecik part well. even i myself find it hard to maintain that each time i sing that number. herm, maybe there were defects but if that so, the mic did an excellent job on concealing 'em. paying attention to the performance till the end. yay! this was the best band so far and it's definitely my first choice! top of the list! the best!

the results? 6TH MENANG POP BAND!!!! i can't content my excitement! 6TH MENANG WEI!!!! it's certainly something to be proud of. not only it shows that medic students DO know other stuff apart from the art of anatomy, it's also the fact that this is their very first entry (since the 1st time i watched this battle of the band la.. tatau la if previously ade ker...)... terus jadik the audiences fave. gempak...gempak...wheeeeee!!!
